I haven’t really been able to put this to the test on the track yet but there’s no doubt it’s a perfect fit and fits the style of my PRL tank. It feels high quality and I’m happy with that.
I live in the hot southeastern US, cooling is a concern for my DE5. I monitor temps & they are a few degrees cooler now & cool down is faster after harder runs.
Install was relatively easy since I have a turbo inlet pipe & intake installed. I used the spring kit with long clamps & zip ties to pull the springs under the turbo. I used wire on the elbow.
Do they work? I would say yes, I can touch them after a drive. It is still warm under there, that's the nature of the engine. I would say they work as advertised.
Two things: they will smoke/ smell for a few heat cycles & they will shrink to the shape of the turbo/elbow.
I decided to go against the grain & buy this system over the PRL system. The reasons: rigid piping with a slightly larger diameter, shiny, & I felt replacing rubber with silicone was not an upgrade.
My only real gripe is the shortness of the couplers. I did pop my cold side next the intercooler after initial install & a low throttle test. I will place the blame on me, for being in a hurry at that point, but the couplers take a fair bit of adjusting to get into a secure place. The bracket confused me for a couple minutes, & the hot side tubing is going to make you cuss.
I am on a Phearable Stage 2 tune & they have not given me any other problems under boost. The response is better, my intake temps are lower (via Hondata), & the engine seems like it is not working as hard under acceleration. I can't say for sure the power claims are true, but it feels like there is a very small bump.
I would still buy it over the other systems.
