Bolted endplate versus fixed endplateand why the choice matters for performance.
Bolted end-plate designsare much more common and cheaper to manufacture than fixed endplates. They allow different materials to be used for the main cross-section and endplates help control cost and makes them easier to make. Also, a generic piece of bar stock can be used to fit between the end-plates on many different vehicles by simply cutting to length. While this is a great way for the manufacturer to control cost, bolted connections are a weak point. In this application, the (buckling strength) of the brace can be reduced by a factor of 4!
Fixed end-plate designsutilize a single material for the cross bar and endplates that are welded to each other. This results more complex manufacturing but the result is a design that is 4 times stronger than a bolted endplate design.

Downpipe looks great. Fits on the turbo and front pipe great but doesn’t fit the stock heat shield at all. Only reason for 4 star is because the heat shield doesn’t fit.
