The install was straight forward but I did this with my car on the ground and it took hours of fenagleling especially with those plastic button clips. I even bought a special tool for the clips but it didn't really work too well. Would 100 percent recoment raising the car to a comfortable hight. But the parts seem to be of amazing quality. My only complaint is that since I'm new to doing this type of thing for example I'm not sure how much to tighten the hose clamps. I don't want to overtighten and damage anything and I don't want to umdertigjten and get leaks. Especially from a brand like prl throw me a bone and give me torque specks for my sanity and peace of mind. Anyway love it. Going from stock to big bore is fun. The noises are attractive but subtle and quieter than I expected. Overall I love it. Side note I knew I wanted a ktuner and I also knew I wanted the race maf housing on an intake which requires a tune so I bought these 2 items together to support eachother. I think this is a great first mod combo as it gives you experiance under the hood, under the car, and using the tuning software. A good introduction into both worlds for a first timer like myself

WOW

Really makes the car come alive. Not a difficult install by any means. The hardest part was 1 bolt on the stock air box. Other than that, it was straight forward and absolutely worth every penny. Combined with the TSP tune, WOW this car FUN

I LOVE THE NOISE!

I bought a Race intake for my Si sedan and TSP Stage 1 tune and the car is perfect now. The motor no longer runs out of breath after 5k RPM. It pulls so hard that I sometimes have to modulate the throttle to get traction in 3rd gear. The spool and recirculstion noise make this car at least 3x mire fun to drive. Amazing work PRL and TSP !

Fitment Notes:

  • Compatible with or without Honda Sensing
  • For Canadian market Civics, a USDM Windshield Washer Conversion Kit is required.
  • Not compatible with Civics sold sold in Spain, Turkey, etc with the factory CVT cooler.


Tune Notes:

  • No tune required for the Street MAF housing
  • Race MAF housing requires a tune.


Technical Notes:

There’s a reason our Cobra Cold Air Intake Systems is a constant topic of discussion and so highly regarded. Our CNC machined billet aluminum MAF Housing was designed to provide *factory-spec fuel trims (-4% of factory STFT & LTFT) for optimal drivability and performance. The Cobra CAI utilizes a 4" volume from the air filter into the MAF Housing and is available with two different MAF housing choices; a Street housing and a Race housing. Both housings utilizes the factory MAF sensor, but feature two different diameters and profiles. As mentioned above, the Street housing is designed to provide factory-spec fuel trims WITHOUT any tuning whatsoever. The Race housing allows a 50% larger volume of air in comparison to the Street housing, which is why a tune IS required. This larger volume of airflow reduces pumping loss and creates an unrestricted air path to feed the MAF housing with ambient temperature air.

Customers can switch between MAF housings without having to buy another intake system by purchasing our MAF Housing Conversion Kit.

Customers can convert to a Short Ram Intake with our Short Ram Intake Conversion Kit.

Performance Gains:

  • 15 horsepower and 12 ft/lb torque gains in comparison to stock with Street MAF housing WITHOUT TUNE
  • 20 horsepower and 15 ft/lb torque gains in comparison to stock with Race MAF housing WITH Race MAF basemap calibration on Hondata and/or KTuner
  • Larger gains to be seen at higher power levels with custom tuning
